Writing in the reading room
This wiki is where the Pwani 2050 Commons community writes. Anyone with an account can create and edit pages, upload documents, and discuss on talk pages. What you write here reaches the public site only after a reviewer approves a specific revision, so drafts and work in progress are safe to save.
Start from a stub
Pages in Category:Machine-seeded stubs were created by the administrator as starting points. Open one, click Edit, replace the placeholder text with what you know, fill in the infobox, add sources, and remove the seeded banner when the page reflects your own work.
Facts go in the infobox
Every page type has an infobox (for example {{Infobox county}} or {{Infobox organisation}}). The visual editor shows it as a form. Facts entered there are read reliably by the librarian and appear on the public site as "At a glance".
Cite everything
Use the Cite button in the editor to attach a source to each figure or dated claim. Uncited claims are flagged for review.
Record positions, not conclusions
Where an organisation has taken a position on a contested question, add the {{Position}} template with the stakeholder, the question, the statement as they made it, and the date. The public site shows positions side by side; it does not decide who is right.
Contribute documents
Decks, reports, spreadsheets and recordings are first-class contributions. Use Special:Upload, choose a licence, and describe the file. Once a reviewer approves the upload, its text is extracted and becomes searchable on the public site with a link to the original.
Getting a page published
Save your edit, then ask a reviewer (see Project:Reviewers) to approve it. Special:PendingChanges lists pages waiting for review.
